Designed for students from varied professional and academic backgrounds, your degree will begin with developing a plan of study tailored to your interests and career goals. You’ll select one or two areas of concentration to design your own sequence of elective courses.

You’ll also gain a strong working knowledge of industry-standard statistical and data analytics software including SAS and R, putting theory into practice by conducting thorough analysis of real data sets. Credit hours, price & duration

The MS degree in applied statistics requires 30 credits and costs $1,191 per credit hour (Academic Year 2020-2021). You may complete the degree in 30 – 36 months studying part-time. For your convenience, we offer three start dates throughout the year. Request information.

Admission requirements

  • Hold a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) from an accredited university or college.
  • Have satisfactory background in mathematics (two course sequence in calculus) and one course in applied statistics. 
  • Submit official transcripts (in English) of all previously completed undergraduate and graduate course work.
  • Submit a current resume and personal statement.
  • Submit two letters of recommendation from academic or professional sources.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent) is recommended but not required.
  • GRE scores are not required. 
  • International applicants whose native language is not English must submit scores from the TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE.
  • Certain countries are subject to comprehensive embargoes under US Export Controls, which prohibit virtually ALL exports, imports and other transactions without a license or other US Government authorization.

Advanced Certificate in Applied Statistics 

Earn a credential as-you-go and advance your career all while working toward your master of science in applied statistics. Four courses of the MS degree program will count toward a graduate advanced certificate. 

The advanced certificate in applied statistics serves as a foundation for the MS degree. This credential is also offered as a stand-alone credential for professionals in non-data-centric fields who are being asked to add statistical analysis skills to make data-driven, analytical decisions in order to move into more strategic roles.
